Youth to Access Development Opportunites Through Kwadabeka Human Capital Centre Of Excellence Officially Opened By Mayor Kaunda

In an effort to ensure that youth have access to opportunities through digitisation, eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda has officially opened yet another Human Capital Centre of Excellence today, 12 May 2021.

With the centre situated in KwaDabeka Sizakala Centre, west of eThekwini, Mayor Kaunda said the facility will contribute to youth development in the area.

The facility, which is in line with the concept of Smart Cities, has 35 computers and free WI-FI.

"The Centre will make a positive impact in changing the lives of the people for the better. Through this facility, the youth in the area will be able to access employment opportunities from the Municipality and other government departments as well as from the private sector by using the internet. They will also be able to access business opportunities," said Kaunda.

Furthermore, the facility will assist in cutting travelling costs for users as it is in close proximity to the community.

The City has invested over 4.5 Million in the previous financial year for the establishment of these facilities. For 2021, eThekwini will be investing a further R1.9 million to establish four centres.

This is the sixth launch following the successful opening of the Human Capital Centre of Excellence in Hammarsdale, Hambanathi, Pinetown, Archie Gumede Place and uMnini.
