Water tankers on the ground to all areas experiencing water shortage

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH

24 JULY 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WATER TANKERS ON THE GROUND TO ALL AREAS EXPERIENCING WATER SHORTAGE

The Municipality would again like to sincerely apologise to all residents that are barring the brunt of water outages in the northern part of the City. The City is currently building water capacity in its reservoirs after they became empty following a major operation in one of it’s main waterpipes in the North.

That exercise has been completed successfully and other areas are already receiving water.

EThekwini will ensure that all residents affected have got access to a water tanker as a temporary measure. We therefore appeal to all residents to bear with us and we fully understand their frustration.

The situation is expected to be back to normal in most areas before the end of office hours today while others will have water dripping from their taps in the early hours of the morning.

The public is therefore requested to ensure that all taps are closed properly to guard against wastage of water when it comes back.
