Water constraint due to planned shutdown for JAN ROZ reservoir - North of Durban

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WATER CONSTRAINT DUE TO PLANNED SHUTDOWN FOR JAN ROZ RESERVOIR –NORTH OF DURBAN

EThekwini Municipality will conduct a construction of Burbreeze Reservoir, Bulk Water Main and Pump Station to carry out strategic tie-ins into the existing inlet of Jan Roz Reservoir pipework. For this reason, a planned shutdown will take place.

This process will begin on Tuesday, 25 August 2020 at 20:00pm to Wednesday, 26th August 2020 at 08:00am

The Municipality wishes to inform residents that this construction will affect intermittent water supply to the nearby areas supplied from the Jan Roz Reservoir. The public is urged to use water sparingly and that the Municipality will ensure that all reservoirs are full to supply the community during the shutdown period.

The following areas will be affected by this outage:

THE JAN ROZ RESERVOIR ZONE
  • Wewe Area;
  • Maidstone;
  • Fair breeze;
  • Sand fields;
  • Pringle Area;
  • Noorsberg road;
  • Magwaveni
THE BURBREEZE RESERVOIR ZONE
  • Sandfields Residential area;
  • Maidstone Area;
  • Culls Farm;
  • Burlane;
