Umlazi BB-Section Has Started Receiving Tap Water

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
14 JUNE 2023

Water supply has been restored with tap water flowing in some parts of BB-Section in uMlazi today, 14 June.

This comes after the City made progress with repairs to the uMlazi 4 Pumpstation which was recently vandalised. This vandalism resulted in the interruption of water supply.

Filling up of the uMlazi 5 Reservoir is in progress. Other affected areas, including uMlazi Z and AA Sections, are expected to have water flowing to their homes by Thursday, 15 June.

Full system recovery is also dependent on demand patterns. Our teams will continue to monitor the system to ensure equitable supply.

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.

For more information regarding water supply, the public can contact the toll-free number 080 311 1111 or use the eThekwini Water and Sanitation WhatsApp number 073 1483 477. Alternatively, email: Eservices@durban.gov.za
