The Durban Film Office (DFO) will be awarding five local production companies with funds during a cheque handover ceremony on 19 May.

The Durban Film Office (DFO) will be awarding five local production companies with funds during a cheque handover ceremony on 19 May.
The DFO was established in 2003 to position Durban as a globally competitive film city, boost tourism, create job opportunities, and develop the local film industry.
The handover to successful applicants forms part of the DFO’s seventh cycle of their Micro Budget and Development Film Funds for the 2022/23 financial year.
Two funded film’s, that were part of last year’s cycle six, will be screened after the handover event. The films are ‘Mantolwane Trip to Durban’ and ‘Home Sweet Home’. They will be screened at the Barnyard Theatre Suncoast.
