Spring Clean-Up Campaign

EThekwini Mayor Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda is calling all societal sectors to join hands with the Spring Clean-up team in keeping the City’s environment clean. The clean-up campaign seeks to achieve the collaboration of internal and external stakeholders in promoting environmental awareness and cleaning efforts in the City.
It aims to encourage and educate residents and all stakeholders about disposing litter responsibly and cleaning up areas around them.
Deputy Mayor Councillor Philani Mavundla will be leading the clean-up team. This forms part of his weekly community outreach programmes every Thursday. He will be joined by prominent artists.
Organisations such as Toyota, SAB, the Natal Sharks Board, street traders, AJ Mwelase Secondary School, Community Works Programme, Ngcweti Youth Empowerment Organisation, Ward 75 OSS, Plascon, Community Volunteers, Youth Cooperative Hub, Uhlanga Olukhethiwe and residents have already taken part in the month-long campaign.
Members of the media are invited to cover the clean-up. Details are as follows:
