The City would like to inform members of the public that repairs have begun at the damaged Ntuzuma pumpstation, following a fire which resulted in Ntuzuma and surrounding areas to be without water.
Commencement of repairs comes after the Municipality appointed a contractor to undertake necessary work at the damaged pumpstation. The newly appointed contractor, Eco Chem was introduced to the local leadership on Wednesday.
Repairs are expected to complete in approximately three weeks.
The City’s technical teams have been onsite conducting assessments since the occurrence of the massive fire damage.
A total of 47 water tankers are currently supplying water to all affected wards from 8am until 10pm everyday as an interim measure.
