Re: EThekwini Municipality Urges Residents To Conserve Power Following Stage 4 Loadshedding
The eThekwini Municipality's City Manager Sipho Nzuza, is appealing to all residents to use electricity sparingly as power utility Eskom has declared stage 4 of load shedding until 22h00.
“The grid is stretched to its limits and it is incumbent on all of us to be responsible. Let’s switch off power to appliances and rooms that we are not using. Geyser and pull pumps as major consumers of power should be switched off. Failure to do that could result to many hours without electricity. Check your load shedding schedule to ascertain when your area is going to be affected and plan accordingly”, said Nzuza.
With traffic lights anticipated to cease to work during loadshedding, the City is going to deploy more traffic officers to control traffic.
ENDS.
