EThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede, has strongly condemned the disruption of services and operations by a group of individuals in the South of the City today, 30 January 2019.
This morning it was brought to the attention of the Office of the Mayor that a group of individuals had disrupted various municipal operations and services beginning at the uMlazi Parks Depot before they moved to the Sizakala Office at KwaMnyandu Mall. Staff and customers were locked out of the office. The KwaMnyandu mall security was the first to respond.

All security and police personnel have been deployed to all municipal offices and depots within the region to curb any further disruptions and ensure the safety of our staff and customers.”
The Municipality urges customers to visit the Mega City Sizakala Office or any other Sizakala branch closest to them as the KwaNyandu Mall office has been closed for the remainder of the day.”
