PLANNED WATER INTERRUPTION FOR SEA COW LAKE AND SURROUNDING AREAS IN THE NORTH OF DURBAN
EThekwini Municipality would like to inform residents of the Sea Cow Lake/ Springfield Park – North of Durban and the surrounding areas about the planned water shut down that will affect some of the areas in this precinct.
This process will commence on Wednesday, 12 August 2020 at 18h00pm, until the early hours of Thursday, 13 August 2020 at 06h00am.
The Municipality’s Water and Sanitation will embark on this process to carry out strategic tie -ins of the new 500 mm steel pipeline along the new BRT route, which requires to be connected to the existing Sea Cow Lake/ Springfield Park reticulation outlet for the new GO! Durban Project. This development is necessary to ensure that the distribution of water from the reservoir is not interjected and that the system is balanced.
Residents are advised that suburbs and zones supplied from the Sea Cow Lake/ Springfield Park reservoir will not have a water supply during the period of the shut. These areas include:
Inanda Road – Springfield Park
Peters Road - Springfield Park
Hippo Road
Section of Parlock Area
Barvale Road
Carden Road
Springfield Park-North of Umgeni River
Springfield Park-South of Umgeni River
Johanna Road
Sea Cow Lake Road
Part of North Coast Road
Roadhouse Crescent
Part of Riverside Road
Dahlia Road
Foxglove Place
Ribes Place
Lotus Road
Alpine Road
Redfern Road
Umgeni Road
Carinthia Road
Garforth Road
The Municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused during this period, and requests residents to ensure that all taps are closed properly to guard against wastage when the water has been restored.
