Planned Water Interruption for Pinetown CBD, Ashley, Caversham Glen and Nazareth Water Supply System

Planned Water Interruption for Pinetown CBD, Ashley, Caversham Glen and Nazareth Water Supply System
 
The City would like to inform residents regarding a planned water shut down that will affect the Pinetown CBD, Ashley, Caversham Glen and Nazareth Water Supply System from 14 March 2020 (Saturday) from 18:00pm until 15 March 2020 (Sunday)10:00am.
 
The City through its Water and Sanitation Unit will be undertaking two tie-ins in the Pinetown area relating to Go!Durban project. This project follows the existing main relocation from Josiah Gumede Street to allow the road widening due to Go!Durban projectalong this street. The existing 450mmØ Asbestos Cement pipe will be decommissioned and the newly laid 500mm steel main will then be tied in into the supply trunk main from Mt Moriah reservoir.
 
To successfully execute these tie-ins the City will completely shut down the water supply from Mt Moriah reservoir on the 14 March from 18:00pm until 15 March 2020 (Sunday)10:00am.
 
These tie-ins are located within Pinetown CBD, namely corner of Josiah Gumede and Chariton Drive and Moodie Street and Dales Avenue. Both tie-ins will be carried simultaneously.
 
During the shutdown, the following areas will have no water supply;
 
  • Pinetown CBD
  • Ashely
  • Caversham Glen
  • Nazareth
 
The following areas will experience low pressure;
  • Mariannridge
  • Parts of Tshelimnyama (White City only)
  • Stockville
  • Industries surrounding Pinetown NPA
  • St Marys Hospital
