Planned Interruption of Water Supply In Areas Supplied Through The Ntuzuma 2 Pumpstation

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
6 MAY 2025

Residents are informed of the planned shutdown of the Ntuzuma 2 Pumpstation as part of an ongoing refurbishment that is in progress at the facility.
The Ntuzuma 2 Pumpstation is the main facility that pumps water to multiple reservoirs on its network.
The shutdown will commence on Wednesday, 7 May from 6am to 6pm.
All areas supplied from the Ntuzuma 2 Pumpstation will have no water during this time. The water supply will only be restored from Thursday, 9 May.

The shutdown is necessary for the replacement of a rising main manifold in Ntuzuma 4. This includes preparation work for the installation of new Ntuzuma 3 and Ntuzuma 7 pump sets.nTo safely carry out this work, the entire system will be drained of water completely, which will result in no water flowing from the reservoirs.

Affected areas include:

- Ntuzuma A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H Sections and Richmond Farm
- Bester, Ezimangweni, Inhlungwana, and Mzomusha
- Inanda New Town A, B, C, Inanda, and Sowetho
- KwaMashu M-Section
Water tankers will be dispatched to service affected areas.

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
