Panel Discussion on Rebuilding Local Tourism Sector

EThekwini Municipality will host a live panel discussion at the Durban Tourism stand on 5 May in front of approximately 3 700 delegates attending the Travel Indaba.
The panel discussion will be held under the theme: “Rebuilding the tourism sector in Durban” and will be broadcast live on CNBC Africa, channel 410.
The panel will provide insight on rebuilding the tourism sector as a collective which has endured several setbacks such as COVID-19, the 2021 July civil unrest, and the recent flooding.
Speakers who will be joining eThekwini representatives which include Chairperson of the Governance and Human Capital Committee Councillor Nkosenhle Madlala and Durban Tourism Deputy Head Winile Mntungwa are Vivian Reddy, property developer of Oceans uMhlanga, Samantha Croft, Director of Operations at Tsogo Sun Hotels, and Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa.
The Indaba is themed “Africa’s stories, your success” with eThekwini’s sub theme being “The Durban tourism sector bounce back”.
The live panel discussion aims to showcase future tourism developments in the City to Indaba delegates and viewers.
