Online Auction Date Announced

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

15 March 2022

The eThekwini Municipality, in partnership with Auction Specialist, will be holding their third online auction on 23 and 24 March 2022. This time, the site has changed from Mobeni, to Springfield.

There will be a variety of light and heavy motor vehicles, office equipment, furniture, appliances and other items available. Viewing days are on 18, 21 and 22 March at 11 Electron Road, Springfield from 08:30am to 15:00pm.

Nicholas Mkhize, Manager of Disposals at the City’s Supply Chain Management Unit, said: “We hold these auctions so that the public may benefit, and it also generates a revenue stream for the Municipality.”

Mkhize emphasised that the City fully supports Radical Economic Transformation. “We encourage previously disadvantaged individuals to participate.”

Sbu Sihlophe, Director of Auction Specialist urged those that are bidding, to complete the process. “In past auctions, we would see an individual bidding on various items, winning the bid but will only pay for one. This places those who were intending to buy the item, at a major disadvantage.”
