Mozambican Consulate Collects Donations for Cyclone Idai Victims
An appeal for donations to assist millions of Mozambican citizens left homeless and destitute in the wake of Cyclone Idai has been made by the Consulate of the Republic of Mozambique in Durban.
Hundreds of people have died with more than 1.8 million Mozambicans left stranded and homeless. The City of Beira was the most affected, with almost 90 percent of it being destroyed.
There is currently a shortage of food, drinking water, clothes, hygiene products and stationery to name a few in the city.
The Consulate has appealed for donations to address the shortages listed above in order to assist affected citizens.
