Members of Parliament to Launch Service Delivery Programme in Ethekwini

Members of Parliament to Launch Service Delivery Programme in Ethekwini
 
Members of the media are invited to the launch of the “Public Representatives at Work: Clean and Maintain my Township” programme on Monday, 2 September in wards 82/83 and 79 which is uMlazi Baker and uMlazi Train Station respectively.
 
The oversight visit will include rectifying maintenance issues on the day as well as listening to concerns of the community. Longer term maintenance issues such as repairing leaks, fixing potholes, the cutting of grass and collection of refuse will also be identified. Vulnerable households will also be identified during the visit in order to provide assistance. Following the oversight visit, the Members of Parliament will follow up on the work done through their Parliamentary Offices to ensure the longer term issues identified during the visit are resolved in the community.
 
The programme, which is being launched in eThekwini, will then be rolled out to other areas.
 
Members of Parliament attending the launch include the Honourable Mina Lesoma, the Honourable Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, the Honourable Sibusiso Nigel Gumede, the Honourable Dora Dlamini, the Honourable Lindiwe Bebeee, the Honourable Nomvuzo Shabalala, the Honourable Cyril Xaba as well as local ward councillors from the affected wards.
 
They will be supported by service line departments from eThekwini Municipality.
