MEDIA INVITE FOR FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE AT DISASTER MANAGEMENT CENTRE

EThekwini Municipality invites members of the media to gain first-hand insight into how the City’s Disaster Management Centre operates and responds during life-threatening weather.

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the Centre monitors and detects various weather patterns, enabling disaster management teams to act swiftly, deploying relevant rescue resources, coordinating directorates, and facilitating humanitarian assistance when needed.

This knowledge-sharing session will give the media a behind-the-scenes view of operations before, during, and after a disaster, including the City’s disaster prevention strategies.

Members of the media will have the opportunity to engage with officials, ask questions, and observe the practical workings of the Centre.

Members of the media are invited to attend the walkabout at the eThekwini Disaster Management Centre as follows:
