Mayoral Matric Awards

His Worship the Mayor, Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda, will be awarding top matriculants from the eThekwini District, including top ten learners from previously disadvantaged schools who excelled in their matric 2019 examinations. Recognition will be given to schools that have obtained a 100% pass rate and those that have improved by 30% or more from previously disadvantaged schools with the most improved walking away with bursaries. The Municipality is committed to assisting the Department of Education in its endeavours of resourcing schools in the City to support teachers and learners, thereby ensuring the appointment of teachers who take education seriously. Members of the media are invited to attend.
