Mayor to Outline Plans to Engage Communities to Quell Protests
EThekwini Mayor Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda will outline plans to quell public unrest and racial tensions in eThekwini communities at a media briefing tomorrow, 14 July.
The leadership of the City aims to engage communities which have been identified as hotspots for civil unrest and racial tension.
Since the violent public protests began, some communities have formed groups to protect their property and businesses. This has fueled racial tensions in some communities.
The media briefing will take place as follows:
