Mayor Kaunda to Attend Matric Results Night Vigil in KwaMashu

EThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda will this evening join thousands of matriculants who will converge at BP Service Station-KwaMashu for the night vigil in anticipation of the release of the 2019 National Senior Certificate Examination Results.

The night vigil is an initiative of BP Service Station - KwaMashu that is aimed at creating a safer environment for matriculants who are anxiously waiting for their results. In 2019, the night vigil attracted over 1200 learners on the eve of the of matric results announcement.

“This is a defining moment for our children, they carry the hopes of their families and as parents we must give them all the support they might need during this time. We will use this night vigil to urge parents to support their children by accompanying them to school when they are going to collect their statements of results tomorrow,” said Kaunda.

Members of the media are invited to come and cover the vigil.
