MAYOR KAUNDA SADDENED BY PASSING OF HAMMARSDALE’S WARD 91 COUNCILLOR LUCKY NHLANHLA MNGWENGWE

ETHEKWINI Municipality Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda is saddened by the untimely passing of Hammarsdale’s Ward 91 Councillor Lucky Nhlanhla Mngwengwe, last night, 21 January 2021 after a long illness.

Mngwengwe passed away while he was serving his third term as a Ward Councillor in eThekwini. He also served in the Municipal Economic Development and Planning Committee.

Sworn in as a Councillor in 2006, Mngwengwe was passionate about service delivery and economic development. During tenure, eThekwini initiated various development projects in the ward including the Hammarsdale Junction Mall, Mpumalanga Museum and various housing projects.

“On behalf of the people of eThekwini, we wish to convey our heartfelt condolences to the Mngwengwe family, friends and colleagues. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
