Interventions To Restore Water Supply from Tshelimnyama M1 Reservoir Underway

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH
PUBLIC NOTICE
20 MARCH 2024

The City is aware of prolonged water supply interruptions affecting Mpola and surrounding areas.

This is due to a suspected blockage of restriction on the inlet trunk main (pipeline) that supplies the Tshelimnyama M1 Reservoir.

Technical teams are currently onsite trouble shooting to establish where the blockage is located.

Alternative supply is also being explored to supply consumers in the interim while investigations on the main pipeline are underway.

Affected areas without water supply include:
- Mpola
- Mariannridge
- Dassenhoek
- Nagina
- Birchwood

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
For more information regarding water supply, the public can download eThekwini Municipality’s Mobile App to log faults or send a WhatsApp to 073 1483 477. Alternatively, they can call the toll-free number 080 311 1111 or email Eservices@durban.gov.za.
