Interruption of water supply to some parts of Phoenix, Ntuzuma and Verulam

INTERRUPTION OF WATER SUPPLY TO SOME PARTS OF PHOENIX, NTUZUMA AND VERULAM
The Municipality is aware of the interruption of water supply in some areas supplied by Phoenix, Ntuzuma and Verulam reservoirs. The interruption is due to inadequate supply of water from the Durban Heights Water Treatment Works to these reservoirs.
The public is reminded that there is an ongoing rationing process that was introduced by the Municipality to deal with the water supply challenge.
Areas that are affected include parts of Verulam, Phoenix and Ntuzuma areas.
While Umgeni Water continues to make progress in providing full contracted volumes of drinking water to eThekwini, a shortfall remains and will be eradicated when repairs at Durban Heights Water Treatment Works are completed and the system is fully operational.
The Municipality thanks the public for being patient and apologises for the inconvenience caused.
