Interruption Of Water Supply From The Northern Aqueduct

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
18 JUNE 2023

The Municipality is aware of the interruption of water supply in areas supplied through the Northern Aqueduct.

The interruption is due to constrained supply from Umgeni’s Durban Heights Water Works.

Interventions to improve water levels have commenced. This includes closing off reservoir outlets at night and reopening them in the morning to build the required capacity to supply communities.

System recovery is expected to take place over the next two to four days, depending on the demand.

Water tankers will in the meantime supply affected communities.

Affected areas include:
• Phoenix, Avoca, Aloes, KwaMashu, Inanda, Ntuzuma, Verulam, Trenance park.

The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
