Government Leadership to Address Community of Umlazi on Refuse Removal

In an effort to enhance service delivery and ensure residents have access to basic services such as refuse removal without interruption, the City has taken a decision to do away with private contractors as from 01 July 2019.

This is after the waste collection in uMlazi was faced by numerous challenges which affected residents of this township.

Members of the media are invited to a mass meeting where an inter-governmental delegation led by Premier Sihle Zikalala will address the community of uMlazi about programmes to ensure an efficient refuse removal service in the area.

Prior to the meeting, the leadership will be part of the clean-up operation.
