GO!Durban Young Stars To Shine On World Stage

21 JULY 2023

Join us in applauding Sikhulile Gwala and the incredible nine young stars from the GO!Durban Academy as they prepare to represent our nation at the World Championships of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles this month.
Competing against 70 countries, they embody the spirit of South Africa, shining as ambassadors, not just for eThekwini, but the entire country.
EThekwini Mayor Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda has sent his heartfelt wishes as the local stars take flight onto the world's stage, urging them to raise the nation's flag high with pride.
The Inanda performers’ journey to the international spotlight began with their victory at the South African Championships, and over the past two years, they have brought home an impressive 119 gold medals, 4 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
Their dedication and talent have brought glory to the community.
The GO!Durban Academy is unearthing and nurturing young people from the City's most vulnerable communities and providing them with the tools that foster confident, authentic, creative and environmentally aware future leaders.
Everyone is urged to rally together and shower these bright stars with unwavering support as they showcase the best of South Africa's artistic brilliance.
