EThekwini can confirm that about 500 dwellings were destroyed during a fire at the Kennedy Road informal settlement in Clare Estate.

Tragically, one adult is deceased  and a child is missing. A search for the child is under way. 

Emergency and Disaster Management teams are in the area rendering assistance to affected families.
