Extension of deadline for rates rebate renewal as well as GV 2022 inspection and objections

The eThekwini Municipality has decided to extend the deadlines for the rates rebate renewal and the inspection and objection period of the 2022 General Valuation Roll (GV2022). This is due to the impact of the recent floods.

The new deadline for both is 16 May 2022.
This is so property owners have sufficient time to fill out their renewal documents and also inspect and object against their property value, if necessary.

The rates renewal forms have been posted to qualifying individuals and can also be obtained by emailing ratesrebates@durban.gov.za or can be collected at the customer’s nearest Sizakala Centre. The documents must be accompanied by certified copies of the account holders Identity Document, municipal bill and any other relevant supporting documentation.
