EThekwini To Commemorate Lives Of Revolutionaries Killed During Height Of Political Violence

The City will on Sunday, 27 November host the historic Siyabakhumbula Memorial Day event to commemorate the unsung heroes and heroines of the struggle who lost their lives in Umgababa during the height of political violence.
Various leaders and family members of the struggle stalwarts will also be among the luminaries attending the event.
The ceremony will commence with a wreath laying at the uMgababa Memorial Site by members of Umkhonto Wesizwe Military Veterans and family members who lost loved ones during this period.
This will be followed by the unveiling of a site where a museum will be built as well as a Oliver Tambo statue installed.
