EThekwini Municipality Unveils 365 Days Programme to Fight Gender-Based Violence
 
EThekwini Municipality will unveil a 365 days programme to fight the scourge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) tomorrow.
 
The programme, which forms part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse will be officially unveiled by the District Champion and MEC for Education, Mr Kwazi Mshengu and eThekwini Municipality Mayor, Mr Mxolisi Kaunda.
 
The recently released crime statistics indicate that eThekwini Municipality has the most GBV hotspots (Inanda, Umlazi, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu). The programme seeks to mobilise all sectors of the society to play their part in fighting this scourge.
 
Members of the media are invited to join MEC Mshengu and Mayor Kaunda as they launch the 365 days ward-based programme. Prior to the main event the MEC and the Mayor will visit two families of the victims of gender-based violence.
