EThekwini Municipality Revolutionarises Public Transport System by Introducing To Its Fleet State Of The Art Buses
In its quest to guarantee residents safe and reliable integrated public transport system, the City will on Saturday 22 February hand over to the public, breath-taking buses that will serve commuters with distinction. Thanks to the jaw dropping technology never seen anywhere in the country these buses boasts.
The breakdown of buses from the ageing fleet, is now going to be the thing of the past and procurement of more buses to cover all routes in the eThekwini is on the cards.
EThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda who was elated to witness the delivery of these buses, says this is a living testimony that the welfare of residents tops the lists of the city’s priorities.
“These buses are totalling to 50. I am certain that their splendour is indeed going to spur more and more of our residents to gravitate towards using public transport. This would in turn reduce traffic congestion that is plaguing our road infrastructure. Cities in the world invest substantially in the public transport. We are now following suit and gradually we will eventually be at the summit of world class public transport system. We are therefore urging our residents to look after them. We are not expecting anyone to torch them in the event our communities are unhappy about anything pertaining to service delivery. It is the responsibility of all of us to jealously protect them” said Kaunda.
It is for this ground-breaking development that Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda cordially invites members of the media to witness the city writing yet another history.
