EThekwini Municipality Kickstarts The Multimillion Upgrade of Point Watermain

EThekwini Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda invites members of the media to a sod turning ceremony for the upgrade of the Point Watermain upgrade project. Once the 4,1 kilometres and 800mm diameter steel pipe is laid, both Mahatma Gandhi (Point)Road and Anton Lembede (Smith)Streets’ sidewalks and public realms, will be upgraded to give other cities in the world a run for their money. This is part of inner-city rejuvenation that is expected to attract many businesses in the Central Business District (CBD). 

This development is going to take a period of 18 months and will guarantee unceasing water provision to among others the two multi-billion sky scrapers due to be constructed near the new promenade. 

The city apologises in advance for the inconvenience this development initiative is going to cause to the public. 

Members of the media are cordially invited to witness the city writing yet another history.
