EThekwini Mayor to receive donation of food vouchers for child-headed households and hand over a house to pensioner in Folweni

ETHEKWINI MAYOR TO RECEIVE DONATION OF FOOD VOUCHERS FOR CHILD-HEADED HOUSEHOLDS AND HAND OVER A HOUSE TO PENSIONER IN FOLWENI

EThekwini Municipality Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda will today be receiving a donation from a private sector company LEOMAT as part of its contribution to COVID-19 relief.

The Mayor will hand over a house built on behalf of Mr Mbili, an 80-year-old man from eFolweni who has been living in a shack for the past 30 years after his house was burnt during the political violence in the area.In support of the City’s social relief programme, the Mayor will also receive 100 Covid-19 food vouchers on behalf of child headed households in the area.

This initiative demonstrates the importance of partnership between the public and private sector in fighting the scourge of COVID-19.
