EThekwini Mayor to Unveil Programme to Help Unemployed Youth to Run Businesses Including Spaza Shops in Township and Rural Areas
ETHEKWINI Municipality Mayor, Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda will, on Saturday 07 November 2020, unveil an Entrepreneurship Skills Development Programme which aims to equip about 800 unemployed youth from uMlazi and KwaMashu, with business skills.
The programme, which is a public-private partnership between eThekwini Municipality and Afrika Wireless Tech, will young people receiving containers to use as spaza shops and start-up groceries as well as a baking oven. The containers will also be equipped with WiFi to assist members of the community with internet connectivity.
The Mayor will also announce multimillion-rand road construction project in the Ngonyameni area, near Umlazi.
Members of the media are invited to join Mayor Kaunda as he unveils these ground-breaking programmes.
