EThekwini Mayor to Assess Damage In Flood-Stricken Areas

EThekwini Mayor to Assess Damage In Flood-Stricken Areas

EThekwini Mayor, Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda and his Executive, will tomorrow visit flood-stricken areas around eThekwini to assess damage caused by the heavy rainfall. The Mayor will be in Ward 44 in Inanda’s eMapulazini area where two houses collapsed claiming the lives of two people.

Mayor Kaunda will be accompanied by disaster management teams who will implement interventions to assist affected families. Mayor Kaunda has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wished all those who were injured during these torrential rains, a speedy recovery.

Members of the media are invited to join Mayor Kaunda as he conducts an assessment in flood-stricken areas in eThekwini. The visits will take place as follows:
