ETHEKWINI JOINS GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK TO EMPOWER LOCAL BUSINESSES
In line with its commitment to inclusive economic growth and the development of small and emerging enterprises, eThekwini Municipality will this month host a series of business empowerment activities.
From 17 to 23 November, activities will take place across the City as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW).
The Municipality will host this global celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship in partnership with the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency, Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal, Ithala Development Finance Corporation and South African Revenue Service.
Other partners include the Durban University of Technology, National Youth Development Agency, Sasol, Innovate Durban, Wear Your Brand, South African Footwear and Leather Export Council, Takealot, National Home Builders Registration Council, Standard Bank, and other local and global stakeholders.
Together, these partners will deliver a week-long programme of empowerment activities including masterclasses, workshops, and discussions aimed at building business capacity, creating market linkages, and connecting local entrepreneurs to broader economic opportunities.
The programme will also feature pitching sessions where businesses compete for development support packages.
GEW activities start daily at 09:00 and include the following highlights:
