DURBAN TOURISM TAKES OVER MPUMALANGA AND LIMPOPO DURING NATIONAL ROADSHOWS

As part of its strategic efforts to promote Durban as the premier holiday destination, Durban Tourism has embarked on a series of vibrant national roadshows to showcase the City’s diverse attractions and encourage holidaymakers to explore its hidden gems.

This initiative aims to boost tourism activity ahead of the festive season, offering visitors an exciting preview of what Durban has to offer.

Over the past weekend, Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces buzzed with energy and anticipation as Durban Tourism brought its signature vibe, entertainment, and activities to these regions.

The first leg of the roadshows kicked off in Middleburg, followed by stops at Riverside Mall in Nelspruit, and culminated at the Mall of the North in Polokwane.

The response was overwhelming, with thousands of residents warmly welcoming Durban Tourism’s presence.

Many promised to visit Durban over the holidays, eager for a relaxing, budget-friendly getaway and memorable experiences.

The roadshows are designed to showcase Durban’s array of summer activities, holiday packages, and special offers, encouraging holidaymakers to book their summer escapes to Durban as their preferred destination.

A highlight of the activations was the iconic open-air ricksha bus, which allowed visitors to hop on for a unique and leisurely tour of the City’s attractions.

These vibrant ricksha buses offer a colorful and lively way to explore Durban’s famous Golden Mile and beyond, providing stunning coastal views and a refreshing sea breeze.

Durban Tourism Senior Manager Hlengiwe Dube expressed her excitement about bringing the Durban experience to Mpumalanga and Limpopo residents.

“We wanted to interact and engage directly with visitors from other provinces and reassure them that Durban is ready to welcome them with open arms and endless waves of tranquillity,” she said.

Durban continues to invite visitors not only for its renowned beautiful beaches and sunshine, but also for its hidden gems, diverse communities, and countless opportunities to relax, explore, and connect.

Projections indicate that approximately 1.3 million visitors are expected to flock to Durban during the upcoming summer holidays, ready to enjoy its vibrant hospitality and scenic beauty.

The national roadshows will continue in Gauteng and Western Cape provinces.

Visitors are assured of fun activities and adventures lined up in key tourism nodes, including townships and rural areas to keep holidaymakers entertained.
