CITY TO HOST GRADE 12 CAREER SYMPOSIUM FOR MATH AND SCIENCE LEARNERS

EThekwini Municipality, in partnership with various stakeholders, will a host a Career Symposium for grade 12 learners to expose them to the working world through career guidance. The Symposium will be held from 23 to 27 May at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.

Members of the media are invited to attend the event as the City intervenes to address the shortage of scarce skills in the country. This will be done by empowering learners to choose their career paths wisely through knowledge sharing.

The Career Symposium aims to encourage grade 12 learners to consider pursuing careers in scarce skills technical fields and to study science, mathematics, and technology.

The symposium is by invitation only, with participating schools selected through the Department of Education and ward councillors.

During the symposium, exhibitors from tertiary and the public and private sectors will relay information and interact with learners.
