City Urges Residents to Adhere To Refuse Collection Schedule In Umlazi

Since the announcement of the country’s lockdown, the City has been working tirelessly to provide the much-needed basic service of refuse removal and clearing backlog in uMlazi.

A huge progress of clearing illegal dumps in the township has been made by the City’s Cleansing and Solid Waste (CSW).

However, residents are urged to cooperate with the City by adhering to the weekly refuse collection schedule by making use of black refuse bags. This will ensure a smooth operation of refuse removal service in the area.

Residents who are in quarantine or infected with the Covid- 19 virus, are urged to double bag their refuse to minimise chances of the spread of the pandemic.

All residents are humbly requested to partner with the city to prevent illegal dumping by reporting any signs of this unlawful conduct to 031 311 8804.

The public must always be mindful that it is always the responsibility of everyone to keep the city clean by disposing of garbage responsibly.
