City To Unveil Strides Made In Improving Well-Being Of Homeless Residents And Plans Afoot To Permanently Rid eThekwini Of This Scourge
 
While the national lockdown battered the economy, it also gave a new lease of life to people living in the streets.
 
Thanks to the city's 12 shelters that helped in the rehabilitation process of this part of the population and the life changing opportunities it ushered in.
 
To date multitudes of homeless people have been reunited with their families while others have been armed with self-help skills that shall assist in lifting them out of the inhumane life of the streets.
 
As part of the World Commemoration of Homeless Day, eThekwini Municipality will, on Saturday, 10 October, showcase the progress made in turning around the lives of the homeless.
 
On the day, the Municipality will also outline comprehensive plans to aggressively address homelessness.
