City Leadership to Embark On Voter Registration Blitz

City Leadership to Embark On Voter Registration Blitz
 
The MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nomusa Dube-Ncube together with the Mayor of eThekwini Municipality, Cllr Zandile Gumede and IEC Officials will embark on an extensive Voter Registration blitz on 25 – 27 January 2019.
 
During the blitz, members of the public will be encouraged to take advantage of the last opportunity to register with the IEC for the upcoming general elections, if they have not done so. They will also be reminded to ensure that their current physical addresses are correctly updated with the IEC.
 
Voter registration is an integral part of the general elections process, as those who have not registered will not be allowed to vote.
 
Members of the media are invited to be part of the blitz
 
THE BLITZ WILL BE CONDUCTED AS FOLLOWS:
 
FRIDAY, 25 JANUARY 2019
 
06h00 – Meeting point at COGTA Offices, 7 Buro Crescent, Mayville
07h00 – Durban Beachfront (starting point is at New Beach Amphitheatre)
09h00 – Durban ICC for eThekwini Matric Mayoral Awards
13h00 - Warwick Junction (starting point is at King Dinuzulu Park)
14h00 – The Workshop Shopping Centre
SATURDAY, 26 JANUARY 2019
12h00 – Isiphingo Taxi Rank
13h00 – Mega City, Umlazi
14h00 – Door-to-door blitz at Umlazi F and G section
