City Invites Young Creatives To Audition For Theatre Residency

CITY INVITES YOUNG CREATIVES TO AUDITION FOR THEATRE RESIDENCY

The Municipality’s Arts and Living Cultures Division is calling on aspiring actors, writers, and directors aged 18–35 to step into the spotlight and showcase their creativity at the Theatre Residency Auditions.

The initiative aims to discover, nurture, support, and mentor emerging theatre talent. 

Successful candidates will secure a place in the Theatre Residency Programme, which offers mentorship, professional training, and access to performance opportunities designed to develop their craft and advance their careers in theatre.

The auditions will be held as follows:

Date: 15 November and 22 November 2025

Venue: Stable Theatre

Time: 09:00

Auditions will consist of:

• A 1–2 minute monologue of your choice

• (Optional) A 1-minute movement piece or song

• A short interview with the judging panel

• Improvisation exercises

Artists auditioning must demonstrate:

• Strong performance skills in acting, movement, or voice

• Creative vision and originality

• Alignment with the mission of community-engaged theatre

• A collaborative spirit and openness

• Potential for growth during the residency.

Selection will be based on a five-point evaluation system, assessing skill, creativity, mission alignment, collaboration, and growth potential.
