Buffelsdraai landfill site to reopen tomorrow

BUFFELSDRAAI LANDFILL SITE TO REOPEN TOMORROW
 
The City is pleased to announce the reopening of the Buffelsdraai Landfill Site from tomorrow, 1 April.
 
This follows extensive rehabilitation and safety improvement projects undertaken at the site after it was temporarily closed in July 2023.
 
The landfill site will open in two phases, the first effective from tomorrow with the following waste types accepted including garden refuse, builders’ rubble, and sand cover material. 
 
The second phase is planned for complete opening in May for all other general waste, which includes domestic waste.
 
The City further reminds the public that special disposal of condemned food and counterfeit goods is still prohibited at all the City’s landfill sites. 
 
Customers are encouraged to make alternative arrangements with other available private facilities for such disposal.
