The search for the next big gospel star is on, as the Gospel Icon Discovery Talent Search competition is well underway.

Aspiring singers are encouraged to make their way to auditions being held across the City until 8 May.

The Gospel Icon Discovery Talent Search competition aims to promote the creative sector which is an important driver of economic growth. The competition also provides a platform for youth to showcase and develop their musical skills.

Details of upcoming auditions are scheduled as followed:

• Bester Hall in KwaMashu- 9 April 

• Stable Theatre- 10 April

• KwaXimba Hall- 23 April

• Hambanathi Community Hall- 24 April

• Clermont Community Hall- 30 April

• UMlazi W Hall, Cinema- 8 May

The competition is strictly for solo acts and entrants should be aged between 16 and 35. Aspirant gospel artists are urged to bring their ID or birth certificates when auditioning.
