All Roads Lead to Durban Fashion Fair Showcase

ETHEKWINI NEWSFLASH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

21 SEPTEMBER 2022

It’s all systems go for the Durban Fashion Fair (DFF) showcase featuring the work of 66 fashion designers, both locally and from across Africa.

The first showcase takes place today, 21 September at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.

The DFF ends on 24 September and features several empowerment components. A three-day Make-Up and Beauty Masterclass hosted by Edgars Beauty Academy takes place from 23 to 25 September. The Buyers Lounge will sell the collections of featured designers while the DFF Recognition Awards will recognise and reward excellence in the fashion sector.

EThekwini Mayor Councillor Mxolisi Kaunda said: “The DFF and the City’s Fashion Development Programme are impacting positively on local, emerging designers. Of the 66 fashion designers that will be showcasing, approximately 20 are DFF Mentorship Programme 2022 mentees that received training for six months under the programme.”

Mayor Kaunda said buyers are invited to attend the fashion shows to scout the talent. This has proven successful in the past with many DFF Mentorship Programme mentees going on to supply major retailers, he said.

Tickets for the DFF showcase themed ‘Expressive Expression’ will be available for sale at the door. They are also on sale at all Boxer and Pick ‘n Pay outlets as well as online via webtickets.co.za

Tickets are R120 per person per show or R250 to attend all the day’s shows. The public is urged to attend the various showcases to support the City’s buy local campaign.
