Repairs to damaged infrastructure, including road repairs, was undertaken during a joint clean-up effort during Operation Good Hope in Nazareth, in ward 16 recently.

TO RESOLVE sewer blockages, the Municipality is using technology to locate faults This technology was used during the Mother of All Clean-ups campaign held in the Phoenix, Inanda, Ntuzuma and KwaMashu (PINK) area from 19 to 25 April. This is an integrated service delivery clean-up where various units and departments tackle challenges affecting an area at the same time.

Head of Area Based Management Unit Linda Mbonambi said a team from the Wastewater branch at eThekwini Water and Sanitation used Closed Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) to locate an underground manhole that has been causing an overflow at the KwaMashu Shopping Centre.

Meanwhile, members of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature joined forces with the City to conduct Operation Good Hope in Nazareth, in ward 16 recently. Nigel Gumede, a member of the KZN Legislature, said their visit forms part of their Taking Parliament to the People Programme which is held annually.
