Four suspects were arrested for drug dealing outside a school in Phoenix.
FOUR suspected drug dealers are set to appear in court on charges of drug dealing and possession for plying their illegal trade outside a school in Phoenix. Metro Police Spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu said the arrests come after months of hard work by the Metro Police Drug Team, Metro Police Trio Crimes Team, South African Police Service Crime Intelligence, and the Provincial Organised Crime Unit. “Our teams received a tipoff from a concerned resident about drugs being sold outside a school. Working with both internal and external stakeholders, teams surveyed the area for months before making the arrests,” said Zungu.
Police said they cannot disclose the amount of drugs seized from the suspects; however, additional charges may be added pending the findings of further investigations. “At this point, we cannot divulge too much information about the case as it involves the suspected sale of drugs and other illegal substances to minors at the school,” Zungu added. Meanwhile, in another drug related arrest in Phoenix, Metro Police confirmed the apprehension of two individuals for drug dealing. They face charges of illegal possession of a firearm and drug dealing.
