The eThekwini Municipality’s Skills Development Unit would like to urgently caution anyone from appearing at Curries Fountain for an apparent fire fighting learnership programme on 24/08/2012.

Puleng Monatisa, Project Manager at Skills Development Unit, explained, “There is a hoax email that has been circulating, advising people to go to Curries Fountain on 24 August 2012 for a fire fighter learnership. There is no such event and no recruitment for firefighters taking place on that date.” Monatisa further explained how the process works.

“The advert for interested candidates will be advertised on the Municipal Publication Ezasegagasini Metro in the next issue 31/08/2012. In the advert, we will specify all details. Everyone is to note that the email going around is a hoax.”
