Power Restored To South Durban Area24 July, 2008 Power was restored to the first block in the Durban South area today at about 9:30am and the rest of the area was online by 11:30am. ‘Although we had said to customers it would take a week to restore power, we were back on line even earlier than anticipated,’ said Tony Dold of eThekwini Electricity The emergency repair teams worked continuously till this morning. The electrification process was planned and implemented in a step-by-step manner to avoid the system being overloaded. ‘Thank you to all those affected by this unfortunate situation who showed remarkable patience and to the men on the ground who worked in high gear to restore power to the area swiftly.’ said Dold. |
