Perception Study and Resource Development

A perception study was undertaken to investigate people's attitudes, opinions and false perceptions by means of a survey questionnaire. The results of this study were used as a guide to the development of the education programme.

Educational material, designed in English and Zulu for both illiterate and semiliterate persons, were produced to develop a sense of ownership of sewerage services amongst adults and scholars.

These material included a series of posters contrasting healthy and unhealthy environments, explanatory leaflets, classroom "Certificates of Commitment", colouring-in competitions and a working model.
